12 of the bravest GoodGymers braved the elements to run 6k to Hackney Wick community garden and dig 2 tonnes of earth.
Sunshine, rainbows, torrential rain, gale force winds, light rain all in 90 minutes of GoodGym Hackney running fun!!
After a couple of pre Run doubts we zipped up our tough person suit and headed out to face the elements on our 3k run down to the river almost drowning in a few colossal puddles!
Meeting Kirsty we got stuck straight in to filling the 1000 Litre water butt then watering the vegetables and plants in the Polly tunnel, clearing a fallow flower bed of thick grass and turning over the soil and digging 3 feet deep trenches until we hit cloth membrane the cutting the cloth out so that fruit trees can be planted and the roots have space to grow.
45 minutes hard graft was rewarded by the finest post run treat Of biscuits, oranges, and water! With a mini refuel in we headed back to base hopping the puddles now in bright sunshine!!
Thank you all for coming along, great to see such amazing commitment to our community!!
Have a great week and look forward to seeing you next week when we take on Abney Park Cemetery.
