On Wednesday, Steve Radford, one of my local councillors asked me to help bag up and deliver some food hampers for him to vulnerable local people in the Tuebrook area of Liverpool. When I was extremely vulnerable with the Coronavirus and not able to get out, Steve delivered hampers to me and they were a life saver. In order to pay the favour back, I offered to help Steve. This is a sort of bonus hamper with all sorts of goodies in. The food is delivered at 10.00am and it is completely pot luck as to what will arrive. Three of us bagged it up and got on the road to deliver them. It is so humbling to see people struggling behind their closed doors but most importantly to see the smile on their faces when you turn up to give them things like coconut flavoured yoghurts and a large box of chocolates is priceless. After a quick chat with most of them it was back home for a well earned cup of tea.
