Hay!!.... Your driving me nuts

What better to do on a Saturday morning for our lovely 9 runners than a 4K jaunt out to the Nuttery at Smallcombe to rake hay and pile it for composting for Transition Bath .
Gary was the first to arrive fresh from Bath Skyline park run and beat Dave who was driving ... Go speed Gary !! Great to see so many Brizzle guys today.
A quick warm up and headcount with Mary kindly back marking before we manoeuvred to Sydney Gardens for a press up challenge so 22 in 22 days for veterans challenge before we took the canal path and fields to Smallcombe with Cosmo taking the lead at this point .
Virginia was there to greet us with Keith from dry arch growers and with a promise of a course to teach us to scythe in the new year all was looking good for our hour long task in the Nuttery raking the cut grass.
we worked like troopers today and even had a touch of drizzle to cool us down although we all gained an initiation blister on our inner thumbs - we carried on regardless, raking and gathering and before we knew it , it was time to pack up and say our goodbyes on this educational visit and head on back to the leisure centre for a well earned stretch and chat. Thank you for our nutty experience and I don't think I've seen a walnut on a tree before plus I had my first mulberry today and at the age 50 ... Wow !! and what a taste plus Dave was in the same boat but a tad younger I'm sure. Food and drinks to follow to round the morning off.
What a fab day , thank you all. Amazing !!! And to Chloe for today's pun. There really is no better way to start your day.
