17 GoodGym Bristol runners ran to Clifton to tidy up gardens
On the latest GoodGym Bristol run we were joined by our favourite personal trainer Pru Comben. Pru came along to help with the physical side of GoodGym and make sure that everyone was getting as much physical benefit as possible from the run and task.
We met as usual at Roll for the Soul and then after a quick warm up and briefing we ran out and up the Christmas Steps and to Clifton, stopping to stretch on the way.
This week’s task was at Clifton Mall Gardens, a public garden for the benefit of all Bristol residents. We split into groups to complete various tasks – with two groups hacking back some large bushes, one group doing some speed litter picking, and two groups pruning back and cutting down a couple of trees, and then chopping up the branches into manageable groups. By the time we were finished the gardens were totally transformed! Great work everyone! Special mentions to Jess and Kate for their tree knowledge and Chris for his skills with the pick axe!
Pru gave us some specific stretches for the muscles we had just been using and then we all headed back through Clifton, stopping traffic along the way, and back to Roll for the Soul.
For next week’s run we’re heading to Brandon Hill to join Avon Wildlife Trust on their workday. You can sign up here and everyone’s welcome.
