Happy shopper
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in York.
- Saturday, 28th of March 2020
When I arrived at my first shopping mission of the lockdown season, Mr R knocked on the window and pointed me towards a brown envelope. It contained his shopping list, with priority products starred, and a crisp £20 note.
I googled the nearest Co-op (his shop of choice) and headed there to find that they had virtually nothing on the list. Not to be deterred, I headed over to Morrison's, where there was a massive queue... Just a bit further down the road I knew there was another Co-op, so thought I'd check that out before investing time in queuing.
Luckily they had a lot of what Mr R had asked for, apart from the chicken (obviously). It seems that there's nothing people like to eat more in a lockdown situation than chicken!
I dropped the shopping on his doorstep, and gave him a quick call to let him know what was missing, some due to lack of stock, and some which would have brought it over the £20 budget.
Job done, I enjoyed my last bit of fresh air for the day with a leisurely walk home
