Hands full of armchairs
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Wednesday, 6th of January 2021
On a delightful day I met Becky at the Barbican car park entrance we thought would take us to Miss O's flat. After a little confused wandering around without success we asked for help and were sent off in the right direction which was considerably further away than we anticipated, but we were able to find the entrance in short shrift and were buzzed in by her carer.
The armchair we were tasked with removing was right there waiting for us and within a minute of arriving we were navigating our way back out with armchair in hands.
I'm not going to take any of the credit though, Becky was more than accomplished at lifting the armchair on her own so I was tasked with door opening duty and navigation.
Quickly dispatching the chair back in the appropriate place in the original car park, we set off back to afternoon of work ahead, feeling better having accomplished a good deed in our lunch breaks.
