GOODGYM PARKRUN TOUR - STAGE 4
4 GoodGymers made their way 5km in a race.
- Saturday, 11th of October 2014
where on earth is the start?!
In a nice bit of symmetry (that will be ruined later) four of us turned up for stage 4 in Hampstead Heath. Hassan and Andy managed to get there with plenty of time to get to the very hard to find start, whilst Axel and myself were just a little late but it all worked out in time.
We knew the course was fairly hilly but it ended up being quite a tough run over varying terrain and with some tough inclines and declines.
It was a hard race in the hot autumn sun with a good field turning up including a few mothers running with babies in prams – they were amazing! I couldn’t keep up and I wasn’t even pushing a pram up the hills!
Axel and Andy headed off at a great pace, myself and Hassan at a more steady pace but we all got round and all did ourselves proud with the times we achieved! Unfortunately for me I forgot my barcode so my efforts will never be in the computer but the pictures say I was there!
As we all gathered our breath at the end of the race we caught up with Faye who was there in her goodgym top but had done one lap of the course as she was looking after her children. It was lovely to catch up with a goodgym-er who has been unable to attend group runs but wants to get involved with the coach aspect.
After the group shots (with five not four) were done we headed into Hampstead to have a well deserved coffee, I had to leave but I am sure the boys had a good discussion about stage 5 – in Finsbury Park – see you there!
Cheers, Pritesh
