Good On So Many Levels

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.

Peter and Steve arrived outside Ms K's building on a lovely weekday lunchtime. Peter was using his lunchtime break with Hackney Council, and Steve was glad for some time away from his desk.

Peter wins outright for preparedness, bringing a Tool Belt of Infinite Options (pictured), while Steve brought some tools from his days running a bicycle charity.

Ms K welcomed us in and was incredibly grateful for the help. She had been quoted hundreds of pounds for a job that took Peter and Steve 10 minutes. She had kindly moved the couple of mattresses outside her door, and fortunately found that the box base folded neatly in half, helping us no end to navigate the staircase down. In a few trips everything was deposited outside for the council pickup later, and Peter and Steve bid Ms K farewell.

Short tasks like these can make the world of difference, so keep your eyes peeled for one in your area!
