Goldenrod on the run
1 GoodGymer made their way to help the Luton Borough Council Parks and Countryside in Luton.

A return to Riverside Meadow, familiar to Goodgym Luton from last year where we faced a wall of yellow flowering invasive Goldenrod. The plan to tackle Himalayan Balsam on and in the river had to be postponed due to the depth of the water, higher than this time last year. So Goldenrod removal went full force, working with the Luton and Dunstable conservation volunteers and Groundwork hunting out the invader. There were clusters rather than a dense forest of the plant, which is gratifying to see, knowing that the volunteers efforts are making an impact. Heaps were gathered and taken to Sam's trusty truck for removal from site
