16 Hackney GoodGymers ran 3.5k to paint 25 Gnomes in HollyBush community gardens.
with such an Eagerly anticipated task this evening we wanted to get maximum time with the gnomes so we zipped through the briefing and followed Amy who although not 100% sure of directions was in fine running form with a large Spring in her step.
Arriving to meet Margaret who had everything set up for us to get cracking unleashing our artistic abilities.
With the painting getting set up and strong group on runners carried 150 stone animal carvings from the shed to set the scene in the gnome world. Lots of barrowing and carrying did the trick in 15 efficient minutes.
Gloves on, aprons on, brushes to the hand and we were away! The gnomes are going to form a mini gnome world inside the magical community garden set in the heart of the Hollybush Estate! With plenty of gnomes to go around there were lots of very creative ways of painting gnomes and toadstools.
After 50 minutes of carefully crafted painting action creating some of the finest pieces of art East London has ever seen there was just time for a few Insta shots and tidy up before we hit the road back to the Bakehouse with a feel good task complete!
Quick shout out for the ** Community Mission at St Joseph’s hospice** on Saturday. Sign up here.
Have a great week!
