This afternoon Gill was on a solo mission to support Foodcycle again. First stop was to Bury Park Sainsburys, where there was a generous variety of fresh fruit, veg, yogurt, cheese, milk, cakes etc to be loaded into the car. Then it was on to Aldi to collect their surplus, a trolly full of all sorts of produce, eggs, tins and salad. She then completed the mission by delivering the food to Hightown Baptist Church, where this week’s cooking team would be turning all this food into a tasty three course meal for the guests . Great to think that good food that would otherwise have ended up in landfill was put to such good use.
