At last night's group run, Katie suggested that it would be a good idea for us to run 10km and visit 10 landmarks with our special GG 10th birthday flag.
At short notice I couldn't quite manage to plan a 10km run, but a York city wall run of somewhere between 5-6km, with photos at 10 landmarks seemed to attract quite a crowd.
We set off from Micklegate bar along the city walls. Paul Kelly was experimenting with running with his posh camera.
Are you really running with that?
He was promptly declared official photographer for the evening.
On the way to our first official stop, the flag was rolled out for landmarks not on the list, including a bonus trip to Museum Gardens, which we thought would be closed.
We were thwarted on the way to the Bile Beans sign, by the city walls being closed up, so had to retrace our steps to the Minster where Egg declared
there aren't enough lunges in these pictures
Next up, we made the Constantine statue pose with the flag, using the magic of bungee cords and hair bands. When we finally made it to the Bile Beans sign, Pete was confused, but everyone else tried their best to look 'bright eyed and slim'.
At Betty's I taught everyone the sign for 'tea' and 'cake' and the crowd chose their pose.
We posed on the Shambles, and at Whip-ma-whop-ma-gate (the shortest street with the longest name).
Our final stop was Clifford's tower, where we did the obligatory step climb (but thankfully no reps).
We can't hold the flag up higher
We solved this particular photography problem by substituting Egg for Pete.
As a final hoorah, we raced up the Micklegate cobbles to try to get some strava segments.
Check back for official photos when Paul Kelly has had the chance to 'develop' then!
