A second night of being elves in Woodthorpe as we joined the Rotary Club of York Ainsty and their musical sleigh.
Vicky immediately regretted not wearing waterproofs as it was raining gently when we started but around ten minutes in, the heaviest deluge of rain absolutely soaked us all.
Still, Santa (who reminded us all of Ed) remained in high spirits and ho-ho-ho'ed his way around the streets.
Lizzie was not entirely pleased with the music, which was a bit old school.
It's a bit like we are a funeral procession with this one!
Regardless, older people who have lived in the streets for years loved seeing the sleigh and waved from their open windows whilst excited children ran out squealing for a chance to say hello to Santa and grab some chocolate. One child even gifted him with a lovely red balloon!
I need new chocolates please. These ones are a bit. swimmy - Santa
The final street was the best one, with a woman who was determined to get a santa selfie and a whole row of super hyper kiddies.
Excellent work all you elves, hope you dry out soon!
