7 runners met in the Blue Lagoon this rainy morning for a litter pick. Some ran, some cycled and some had already done a Great Run Local! Rain won't stop GoodGymers from getting fit and doing good!
We crossed over a mini bridge and wandered into the Hilsea Bastion Gardens, finding litter along the paths, in the bushes and washed up by the banks - where Katie and Rachel showed off their balancing and gripping on skills!
Not only did we fill up 6 trash bags with the general litter of cigarette butts, cans and plastic bags, we also had some interesting finds! Which included; some wet towels, a rubble sack, pliers, an unopened meal deal pasta (still in date as Lousia informed us!), a crutch and a rusty bicycle (model by Tony & Maxine respectively) and most oddly/interestingly Katie's crocheted octopus!
We looped back to the Blue Lagoon for some cake, sandwiches and hot drinks to warm up! Chatting away while a jazz band played in the background. Judy also had a browse through a history of the Hilsea Lido magazine and excitedly told us about when Sean Connery visited the "Hildo" - oops!
