Full of beans
5 GoodGymers made their way to help the Bexley Food Bank in Bexley.
- Saturday, 28th of December 2019
- Led by Sarah Lee
5 runners met this morning at one of the Bexley's foodbanks located in Erith.
Some of us had run the way there, while others had already run at Bexley parkrun.
Our task today was to stack the donations into the shelves in their designated areas in order of the best before dates which had already been colour coded.
After having received vast amounts of donations after both harvest festival and Christmas, the foodbank was full and all the donations needed sorting ready to be made into parcels for the clients.
Our team were based in the shipping container which stores all of the food donations and one by one trolleys of donations were bought to us which then needed to be packed away.
We needed to do some sorting and re-jigging of the shelves so that we could fit in all of the new donations.
After stacking away 4 trolley loads we headed into the church hall to warm up and have a chat with the other volunteers.
