Here's what Mrs S of SE15 had to say about the mission:
From referrer: "She was very impressed by how far the volunteer had come to do the job. Please do thank them on our behalf for travelling so far and making a big difference."
Very hot Sunday afternoon, and when I arrived at Ms S home, she was surprised to see me as she did not have news from Age UK for the moving, she got someone to do it last week, but there was a lot for me to do in her back garden as Ms S has not looked after it as way to big for her to look after. Seems that the garden is Fox territory as over grown and they bring gifts for Ms S like socks, toys, balls and some personal brown gifts which the flies like :-) Ms S does not have many tools apart from the mower, a rake and 2 very old rusty shears, but this did not stop me from getting on with my task. You could see the barbecue area and back fence as a lot of overgrown bindweed. I cleared the BBQ area towards the fence to find 2 tables,3 chairs, a iron flamingo and toys plus gifts from our Fox friends. I collected 4 bags of weed and half a bag of rubbish left by the foxes. Who said that old rusty tools are no good?! They did the job!!The back area looks much better and clear of unwanted green items. The garden was given back from the Foxes to the Flamingo.
