This was the last GoodGym Wednesday run before the clocks go back. This week’s task was to help maintain a community orchard and growing site in Bedminster. We met as usual at Roll for the Soul and then after a quick introduction headed out south.
We paused in Queens Square to warm up with some dynamic stretching, including some awesome sumo squats from Charlie, and a couple of sprints to get our heart rates up. We then ran on over the bridges and into Southville.
The first site was a community orchard on North Street behind Tesco. It was getting dark so had to rely mainly on smell (and taste!) to work out what was a herb and what was a weed! Once it was completely dark we ran on to the next site on South Street which was better lit. We pulled out a massive pile of weeds, transforming the garden back to its former glory.
We completed the run coming back to Roll for the Soul with a loop, finishing off with a really quick last mile. Great work all round, and a special mention to Alice who did great on a really quick run for only her second time.
