Lewisham

Mission

For the love of a GG Mission!

3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lewisham.

  • Stephen Corry
  • Monica Charlery-Cazaubon
  • Samuel Tucker

Saturday, 24th of February 2018

We three battled wind chill and the cold to help Ms. P clear her garden of weeds. We arrived and introduced ourselves, and made our way to the back garden via the side entrance, which was opened by Stephen, after removing his trainers to walk through the house after collecting the key. We negotiated opening a tricky shed door and selecting our tools before getting stuck in. Ms. P said if we got to cold me must come inside to warm up. Samuel tackled the front garden, and did a great job; leaving me and Stephen to take on the back garden. We took breaks to do various hand shaking and jumping up and down to keep the blood flowing to our toes and fingers. After spending over an hour clearing weeds, and a quick sweep up, we left Ms. P in the warm to venture home for a well deserved cup of hot tea!!
