Fencing Practice
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Bristol.
- Saturday, 23rd of February 2019
A lovely way to end a lovely day, with a mission run to help an older person!
Mrs P's fence had rotted away, so she bought new fence panels. However, the professionals she was going to get charged £480 for four hours to install these three panels! Thankfully, GoodGym runners Alex, Alice and Clo were happy to install two of them for free in just over two hours!
Alice and Alex turned up from their respective training runs: Alice was using this mission run as a break from her Green Man Ultra training, and Alex had come from her Bath Half training at Somerdale Pavilion parkrun. Clo joined a few minutes later, and the trio got stuck in with drilling holes, making holes deeper, and filling the holes by screwing!
Two of the fence panels were installed easily, and were nice and secure. However, the third panel couldn't be installed in the end, due to it being too long to fit between the fence posts. Mrs P said she was going to look at returning the third panel and getting a shorter one to install instead. She also offered us plenty of tea, soft drinks and biscuits, which we were massively grateful for!
I'm sure we'll have another chance to see Mrs P once she has her third fence panel to install. Until then, it was great to help her out and save her £480!
