** 9 runners ran 7.5km to help local school Bethany of Boscombe **
It was great to back from my travels to meet up with the gang . The sun was shining and no need to worry about jumping over poisonous snakes ! Phew.
A big cheer and thanks to Daryl for leading the last couple of weeks ....awesome job.
And a great welcome to Laura who came back to Goodgym after a little break....good to see you!
For tonights task we headed towards the seafront and the big wheel following a gentle warmup as introductions were made, with Daryl reminding us all to get in early if we want to run any Whitestar running events next year!
Once at the pier, our first and only hill( well almost) was hammered out and enjoyed by all! We then sped towards Boscombe and Bethany school to meet Louise the task owner.
A large area of overgrown nettles and weeds needed clearing and GoodGym were put to task! Ouch ! Some gloves are better than others for nettle stings.....and as for shorts....only the brave shall enter! Caprice, Daryl, Andrew and Neil made short work of the digging and pulling while Abi and Ross were on bagging duty. Dan and Laura set to with some sawing up of the large branches and all was bagged up ready for the tip. The team gathered at the front for a last inspection of all the bites and stings sustained then we were off back towards Flirt cafe and a welcome rest!
Neil and Abi took the lead as we swept back through the gardens and the last gentle hill back to base. Fab running :)
A great job by all tonight and a lot of clearing was done.....soon have the garden ship-shape!
See you all next week as we head back to Boscombe to help a local homeless charity.
