Don't want no Scrub
1 GoodGymer made their way to help the Luton Borough Council Parks and Countryside, Luton and Dunstable Conservation Volunteers, and Wildlife Trust BCN in Luton.
- Monday, 2nd of October 2023
- Led by Luton runner
This Goodgym member joined the Conservation Volunteers on their regular monthly scrub cutting workout at the Bushmead end of Bradgers Hill. The schedule here will continue throughout the winter on the first Monday of each month, and work begun last month on this patch was continued today, opening up a dense tangle of undergrowth to make an area light enough to establish meadow grasses and wild flowers. It's always great working with this friendly and welcoming group of volunteers, connecting with the local community and nurturing both the wildlife habitat and one's own wellbeing. As always, we brew up a decent cuppa to go with the cake and biscuits, and this being a physical task, the calories are essential.
