Don't fall into the pond!

On Monday night 19 keen runners did a quick 2k jog down to one of our favourite spots, Stepney City Farm. When we arrived we split up into 2 groups, pond emptiers and compost movers. Sounds simple except for one small issues, we'd forgotten that it now gets dark so much earlier and everyone had forgotten their torches! But a small thing like the dark did not curb the enthusiasm of our good gymers, no, we simply adjusted our eyes and set off to work. One group started by moving the compost from one side of the farm to the other whilst 2 of our good gymers helped them shovel it in. 2 more were responsible for keeping it raked over and a special mention to our new member, Tracey, who literally got stuck in! The other group were charged with emptying the pond and despite the incredibly muddy conditions managed to avoid falling in! Another special to mention to Tom who so enjoyed the waders that he might even invest in a pair of his own...
Bidding farewell to the farm, we headed to Mile End Park for some quick warm up drills and just a couple of up hill sprints. After the 3 sprint, we were not defeated, 2 groups headed home, ready for a good scrub. Who needs Chanel when you have eau de duck pond 😀
