Divan Intervention
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Bristol.
- Sunday, 4th of February 2018
A lovely little mission this morning saw Deb, Charlene and myself call on Mrs M, all of us managing to miss the turn into her lane, as we ran in our separate ways - top marks to Charlene for battling a cold wind on her bike before chaining it up to run the rest of the way!
We were greeted by a nice warm welcome from Mrs M who showed us the cause of her trouble - a divan bed in two parts which keeps slipping apart and causing her much anxiety. Stripping the bed of it's clothes and removing the mattress and headboard allowed us to realise the problem.
Whilst the two parts of the bed were clipped together, the clips were too wide to hold the base together securely. No problem though, as Deb came up with the solution of plugging some cardboard into the clips to hold the base parts together more securely. Divan intervention indeed! Nice pun Deb!
After a quick reassemble, putting the rest of the bed back together and re-making it, we bid adieu to a grateful Mrs M and headed back out to a chilly but sunny Sunday morning, running and chatting together for a while before leaving Charlene to head off for her bike, myself and Deb heading off in the other direction to contemplate on a nice little task with lots of impact.
