Digging in at the Wardown Volunteer Garden
4 GoodGymers made their way to help the Luton Borough Council Parks and Countryside in Luton.
- Monday, 23rd of August 2021
- Led by David Mansfield
We de-weeded the unused area of soil, then measured the new beds planned. First we attempted to dig in the borders in straight lines (more difficult than I thought it’d be!)
Half the volunteers were shoveling compost and lugging a giant wheelbarrow. The other half were turning the soil and raking the compost in the new beds.
We made more progress than we expected in two hours and had two new beds visible for planting in the future.
There’s still lots more work to do so looking forward to seeing more Goodgym-ers there next time!
