Cups and Saws Us
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Bristol.
- Sunday, 3rd of March 2024
Part 2 of a great afternoon doing missions with Richard found us in Redland for a gardening task for Mr M.
Our task was to cut back the buddleia that was scraping and tapping Mr M’s windows, keeping him awake at night and also to cut down a bay tree which was blocking the light and view from his lounge.
Mr M fetched us a couple of saws from his workshop together with a pair of secateurs and we spent an hour and a half sawing, cutting, snipping and snapping.
Halfway through Mr M popped out with a couple of cups of tea which we gratefully accepted and spurred on we filled up his green bin and the rest of the cuttings were deposited in the wildlife space that he has designated within part of the garden.
Mr M seemed very happy with what we had managed to achieve for him and beyond planning the next task, which is likely to involve some bramble bashing in another part of the garden, he was looking forward to a peaceful night’s sleep and enjoying the view from his lounge!
