Crunch Time
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in York.
- Saturday, 25th of July 2020
The first time I've seen my mum since the start of March, she comes all the way to York and we manage to squeeze in a little mission together, lovely.
This was especially cool because I'd also referred the mission via Move the Masses, after one of our prescription delivery volunteers got chatting to Ms R.
We arrived with our fun masks and gloves, and Ms R had her face visor ready too, as well as spare gloves and hand sanitiser, she was well prepared!
Ms R had tried to put her new exercise bike together herself but hadn't been able to push together all the bits that needed a bit of elbow grease.
We started with the pedals, and eventually had to read the instructions because they weren't screwing in.
With crunch, twist (L) anticlockwise. With crunch, twist (R) clockwise.
We all discussed what the "crunch" might be because realising that it must just be bad translation for spanner!
We bolted everything else together and I 'safety-tested' the bike before we got Ms R on there to try it out.
She was super happy and hopes a bit of daily exercise will help with her back pain and arthritis.

Love this, Egg! 😍🙌🏼. Hope you have a lovely weekend!
Amazing mission both! Lovely to keep it in the family. Great work that I'm sure Ms R is grateful for.
What a great team effort and well done for successfully interpreting the instructions for Ms R and building her bike - she must be pleased. Hope you managed to celebrate with your mum after all this time too!
What a lovely mission - well done team!
