Sheila helped out at Nature's Haven, finishing the job started a couple of weeks ago, constructing a structure on the wall onto which a fan cherry tree could be trained. Some extra vine eyes had been added to the walls - thanks, Jack! With the help of another volunteer, we stretched some wire between the eyes, and twisted it to secure. We then carefully tied the branches to the wire, fanning them out to where we wanted them to grow. Ta-dah! I spent the rest of the session cutting back the canopy of a tree which is shading the new apple trees. And then cutting up the branches to fit them in the green bin. A very satisfying session.
