Christmas is Coming and The GoodGymer Is Getting Fat!!!
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Luton.
- Thursday, 23rd of November 2023
It was lovely to visit Mr D again today. He was having a snooze in bed when I arrived and there was some initial confusion as he thought I was coming tomorrow. However when he listened back to his voicemail he realised that I had come at the right time. I said I could go and come back another day, but he was delighted to see me, and was soon in the kitchen making a brew. He's now trying to cut down on what he's eating so decided not to have any cake with his tea, and then insisted that I have not one, but 2 chocolate mini rolls. It would have been rude not too... I guess.) I have a feeling he is trying to fatten me up as he then tried to get me to eat some chocolate fingers too! (Which I declined - even I can't eat that much chocolate, and in fact I took the 2nd mini roll home with me to have after work.) We had a lovely chat about his family, and he asked me for details about how he can make a donation to GoodGym as he is always trying to give me money for petrol or something - which I obviously decline. I was able to leave a letter for his son, who is his power of attorney, with details of how to make a donation to GoodGym, but urged him that this was not required. Mr D was really up beat while I was there and was so interested to hear all about what I've been up to since our last visit. He has decided that if I keep singing in concerts it's about time I came and sang something for him... may Carol singing... The goes so quickly and before we knew it it was time for me to get back to work. And I left Mr D with a fresh demi-baguette for him to have with his lunch as I know how much he likes them and is never able to get them in his weekly shopping delivery. HIs eyes sparkled when I took it out of my bag. So nice to leave hime looking so happy.
