Cheers For Shears
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Bristol.
- Sunday, 24th of June 2018
A beautiful sunny Sunday morning greeted us for this morning's mission. Very warm too but who's complaining!
Great to accompany Zdeni on her first mission, made all the more impressive by the fact that she had run 10k before we met up and also ran back to the city centre afterwards, despite the stifling conditions!
Our task today was to tidy up Mrs D's back garden which was chock full with quite tough grass and we got straight to it - Zdeni putting some new shears to use to tackle the high grass and weeds around the edges of the garden, whilst I took on the mowing duties.
It was tough going and it was good to have a rest whilst trying to sort out an electric extension lead issue but, once sorted, we raced through the rest of the back garden as well as a small patch out front.
We were done after around 90 minutes and left Mrs D to finish off cooking the Sunday lunch, heading our separate ways home.
Well done to Zdeni on successfully completing her first mission today - impressive stuff!
