Charley's Angels get green fingered for St Mungo's
27 GoodGymers made their way 3.0km to help their local community in Hammersmith and Fulham.
- Tuesday, 6th of September 2016
For our first GoodGym Hammersmith and Fulham run we had 26 runners run to St Mungo's hostel in Edith Road to help Charley (the new Duty Worker) weed, tidy and spruce up their wonderful garden in preparation for teaching the residents how to grow their own veg, become more self-sufficient and love gardening.
From Charley herself: "I just got in to work today and the garden looks amazing. Thanks so much to you guys for all of your hard work :) "
As the numbers were big we split into 2 groups and had half of the group doing a fitness session on Brook Green. From planks to squats and the 'running lean' drill (which will make sense soon, I promise!) we covered some good stuff before swapping over with the task group.
A big well done to all of the runners. We covered 3kms in total. A big pat on the back to those of you who are just getting back into running - remember the first run back is always the hardest and it only gets easier from here! :)
Finally a big thank you to the lovely team at Hammersmith Fitness and Squash Centre for being so welcoming and letting us use their facilities as a base - you rock!
See you all next week! Sign up here
