Quick garden task at the local community garden tonight for John & Vicki as they couldn’t make the group mission.
The local ‘bench residents’’ enjoyed a bit of a chat!! After litter picking John planted a couple of curly kale, purple kale plants and a bean plant. Fingers crossed they develop well. Vicki weeded - hopefully they were weeds and not some exotic plants 🤣
A lady thanked us for the work and told us the name of the very tall plant which the bees love. she said it’s an Echium. ( hence the title - say with an accent please) But apparently it is only alive for one year, once it’s flowered that’s it! Every day’s a school day.
There was an alpine strawberry plant which we thought had been taken but it looks like it’s been replanted in a different space?!
A tree had been snapped - which explains John’s unhappy face!!
But all in all it’s a healthy looking garden. Nice but of ‘mindfulness’ in touch with nature activity.
Off for curry now with other GG buddies!
