Because I shed so
6 GoodGymers made their way to help the St Anthony’s Church in Slough.
- Wednesday, 16th of September 2020
- Led by Slough runner
Six of us visited St Anthony’s Church and the Antz Kidz Activity Centre to assist them with a gardening task at the school next door.
This week we also welcomed new Goodgymer Jess to our group. While she couldn't quite remember how she heard about Goodgym, she thought she stumbled across us on Facebook and decided to get involved following the lockdown. It was great to have her on board for this fun, outdoor mission in the sun!
*Weed a lot to do *
This Wednesday, there were several tasks for us to complete in the hour, so we split into teams and tackled an area each. Sut and Naomi proved to be quite the dynamic duo, removing the entire contents of the school's shed, organising it's items, sweeping its floor and shelves and tidily putting everything back in.
Jess, Sara and Pam utilised their gardening expertise while weeding the surrounding area. At the same time I (Sandy) swept up leaves and any debris that had accumulated on the paths.
By the end of the session, the shed looked immaculate and the outside was free from weeds. There is still a lot more to work on in other parts of the school grounds so we're looking forward to continuing the transformation next time.
