All the weeding and watering made for thirsty work on a Thursday!
7 GoodGymers made their way to help the Global Gardens Project in Cardiff.

Seven Goodgymers met at Global Gardens on a humid Thursday evening in Cardiff. The main task of the evening was watering as, like most of the UK, there hasn’t been much rain in Cardiff for a while. Which I’m sure people are enjoying after after a very rainy May!
Polly explained the different types of plants and flowers that needed watering and we began. Llion and Ben took care of the tomato plants in the polytunnel. Ellen, Imy and Martin watered a mix of flowers and vegetables including leeks. While Andrew and Sean made sure the squash and other veg got plenty water. It did look like the sky was trying to help us out and we felt a few drops of rain but thankfully it held off so we stayed dry during the task.
The rest of the hour was spent doing some wedding in the children’s outdoor area and on some of the vegetable beds and doing some raking to clear a new bed for planting stuff!
It was nice to catch up and there was lots of discussion while doing the tasks. Topics included languages including Welsh and Basque, races being rearranged and house plants we’ve managed to keep alive (or not - since Martin’s cactus has been left in his office since lockdown started). Although the consensus seemed to be that cacti are low maintenance so hopefully it’s still going 🤞🏻
The hour flew by and after a quick group photo using the watering cans as our props it was time to go. It won’t be long till we are back to Global Gardens soon, excitingly it will be for Cardiff's SECOND group run after lockdown!
