Aldi-gether now!
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in York.
- Wednesday, 1st of April 2020
My task was to buy groceries for Mr M so after I had phoned him and got the shopping list together, I shopped at Aldi. After a kind assistant “released” a trolley for me (I didn’t realise you needed a token for them (!)) and after a bit of queuing outside, I went in and discovered they were swept of fruit and vegetables! As Mr M had kindly said that I didn’t need to worry if I couldn’t find things, I decided to take him what I had and offer to go back to another supermarket. When I got to his house, I discussed this with him and when he declined and said that he was happy with what I’d got, I suggested he could contact goodgym again and someone could pick up what I hadn’t been able to get. He thanked me though and expressed his gratitude.
