A weed-all effort will maple the difference
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Bristol.
- Saturday, 24th of November 2018
Mrs W had a problem, her lovely garden was getting out of control and she was not able to tend to it due to her health. Weeds were sprouting between the paving slabs like oompa lumpa mohicans and an unwanted plant had taken root in the pot of her favourite furry maple. But never fear, GoodGym are here! Myself and Ady had a good chat with our host on arrival before being handed the perfect tools for the jobs. I took hold of a small hook-shaped patio weed extractor and Ady a trowel. We dug deep and scraped together all our efforts to get to the root of the problem. It was a worm wonderland with more worms per square metre than an AGM of the worm workers union during a period of a particular digging designation debacle. But we relocated as many of the squirmy beauties as possible, hopefully settling the mini-beast congestion. Ady took on the squatter in the maple pot making light work uprooting the blighter. After an hour or so we were finished. Our host was incredibly pleased with our yard work, which made us really happy; everyone's a winner! With our work done, it was time to worm our way home.
