A thorny shrubject, but a successful mission!
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Islington.
- Sunday, 19th of March 2023
After running part of the way and taking public transport part of the way I arrived at the task where I met Kenny, who had cycled there. Mr and Mrs M needed help with their garden, which had become inaccessible due to some vigorous growth of brambles and shrubs. Kenny got to work on the biggest branches with some shears, while I took on the lower brambles with secateurs. With only a few scratches and without trampling too many snails, we were able to clear the space of general rubbish and overgrowth and filled several garden waste bags for collection. Mrs M was very happy with the job we did, though, unfortunately, there were not enough bags to dispose of all of the branches cleared. We sorted the remaining garden waste into a pile and Mrs M hopes to get some more bags to finish this up.
