A Soup-er Evening!
1 GoodGymer made their way to help the Food Cycle Luton in Luton.
- Tuesday, 8th of November 2022
- Led by David Mansfield
GoodGymmer Dani made her way to this task at FoodCycle, a charity which provides free hot meals to anyone who wants them. People from a range of backgrounds and circumstances go to the group, most are regular and go along every week. For many people, this is the first thing they will have had to eat all day so it’s a charity which is really needed.
For this session, Dani was ready to assist with the annual guest feedback surveys. This was a great opportunity to meet everyone and talk to them individually, explaining questions where they weren’t sure and supporting them to fill out the surveys. These will provide vital feedback to help Food Cycle improve the service they offer.
On the menu today was: Winter Vegetable Soup with bread rolls Jacket Potato’s with a vegetable medley Iced cupcakes
The meal was mostly made from food which would have otherwise gone to waste, and there were lots of positive comments from the guests, especially about the soup which was definitely the favourite dish!
They are always looking for additional volunteers, a couple of weeks ago they had to cancel the session at late notice because there weren’t enough volunteers to run it. Anyone who is thinking about trying this out, I’d strongly encourage you to sign up!
