A rolling hoe gathers all the moss
5 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in York.
- Sunday, 28th of January 2018
5 GoodGym Yorkies met at Mr J's house on the outskirts of York to help out with his garden.
Mr J has a lovely garden but struggles to keep it tidy since his sight deteriorated. Today our task was to use shears to cut down the lumpy bits of grass and get rid of the moss that was growing up between the paving stones. And anything else we could see that needed doing.
While Nikki got to work making a noise (scraping moss from the paving stones with a hoe), the rest of us started shearing down the grass. Ellie took great delight in 'combing' the grass with a rake after we'd sheared it down.
I want to give it a centre parting!
We made short work of the back garden, so moved around to the front where there were quite a few weeds peeping up between the cracks in the paving stones... but with 5 GoodGym Yorkies on the case, they weren't there for long.
Before long we waved goodbye to Mr J and set off on our respective journeys home, leaving a much neater garden behind.
