This morning Sutyee and I helped Slough Outreach with a food sorting task.
Last week Shin from Slough Outreached called me to ask if two of our runners could help sort out a huge stockpile of donated food.
As Sutyee and I had helped in the past and had an idea of the bagging process (and were both free on a wet Monday morning), off we trotted to Langley college to get stuck in.
On arrival, Shin asked if we could get 35 goody bags ready for the delivery drivers to take out with them.
Once that was done, we helped heat up the hot meals, then restock the food into some kind of order.
An hour or so later we were done. The goody bag stocks were refilled, the sanitary stocks were sorted and the grocery area was in tip top shape!
We will be back next Monday to help put more packs together.
