A light bulb moment
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Bristol.
- Saturday, 17th of March 2018
On a blustery (winter?) day our two adventurers made their way to Mr A’s house. Our original mission to remove some troublesome carpet wasn’t to be but there was a new fiendishly difficult mission in store, changing a light bulb.
Now at this point you are probably thinking “A light bulb, really! How hard can that be”. How many Goodgymers does it take to change a light bulb? Well two, but let me tell you a tale... a short tale.
Wiggle, no it’s not moving. Wiggle. How about taking it all apart. Wiggle wiggle. I must point out that the wiggle is us trying to prise the stubborn light bulb from its socket not an elaborate dance. Each successive attempt loosened the bulb a little more. Like a stubborn jar of pickles all it needed was perseverance. Just when we thought it was never going to happen, the light bulb was freed from its vice like grip. The light bulb was held aloft like baby Simba being shown to everyone in the Lion King. With the new light bulb installed we switched the light on and basked in its brilliant light.
After changing the light bulb we chatted with the lovely Mr A for a while and then said our goodbyes. Congratulations to Alison on her first mission. I hope it’s the first of many. Sometimes even the smallest jobs can still have a massive affect on someone’s life.
Until next time.

Brilliant!!
So glad you were indoors, too! We did our own wiggling trying to get big things through a small hatch.
Indoors was definitely the place to be this weekend!
Thanks Dave 🙂
It took us FORTY minutes to get the lightbulb out
