Here's what Mrs O of DE21 had to say about the mission:
"Tracey I just wanted to pass a personal message of my appreciation, and thanks for yesterday. It meant an awful lot to me personally, as Mum used to love her garden, & kept it immaculate, & we shall ask her carers to show her today. B forwarded some photographs, and you have made a huge difference, it looks so much neater, & tidier. ❤️ Thank you so much, you truly made my day, & it made me feel very emotional to see the work you have done. Bless you. 🙏. I volunteered myself in the past, & found it hugely rewarding, but I always thought it so much more special if I received a "thanks" too. To the Good Gym team also, thank you to you all too for doing what you do. You make the world a better place to live in, & make a difference to people's lives. Thank you to you all. ❤️ Many thanks. Helen"
I cycled a 16km round trip to do a spot of garden tidying for Mrs O, and was given a warm welcome by Miss B, the lady who helps her out. The path is a bit clearer now, and about 80% of the lawn has been mown. Unfortunately the cable wasn't quite long enough for the mower to reach the entire lawn. All the same, Mrs O and Miss B were both very appreciative of the help I was able to give, and very generous in offering drinks and smiles.
